Defense Meeting

Representatives from the Icelandic Government are meeting with representatives of the US government at the Culture House today to discuss Iceland's defenses. The meeting began at nine am and takes off where meetings left off last April. It is not expected that Americans will put forward a defence strategy for Iceland, but rather that a discussion of what is to be done with the army base. Over 800 apartments are in the area and over 500 of them are already empty. There are also several service buildings as well as army structures and vehicles in the area.
